I love Fornals as a worker and positive influence on the team.

As a player he's always been adequate. His form has gone and he's now inadequate.

If we could get decent money for him I'd sell him in the summer

Soucek though was absolutely outstanding for a long period. Now he's dogshit. But we know he has the capacity to be a really effective player and if we can get that player back then he's valuable member of the squad.

But right now he shouldn't be playing because he's in such bad form.

That is a good shout and I agree. But what made winning those competitions even more special was;

A: As you said, you had to win a Cup
B Their was no league system and it was a balls out of the hat draw and knockout stage from day one. In those days, you could have the two most fancied winners playing each other in the first round.

Fwiw, Roma could have been staring at 3rd spot in their group now, saw that the side they beat 1-2 on Thursday had a worldie from 35 yards outrageously ruled out for an innocuous push off the ball. Now looks like they will get second.

Without looking back at previous posts I thought Lanzini taking the pen last night wasa poor decision sure he put it away nicely but we need to find another Mark Noble and felt that Benny should have taken it as he is going to start far more games.

Fornals has been mostly that poor for a year. No one wanted to accept it when I pointed it out that long ago, because he sees like a genuinely good lad, but you can only be that poor for so long before you get found out by (almost) everyone.

He'd be the first player I'd move on, whilst he'll still have an unwarranted reputation. Soucek as well.

Thought Fornals must have his boots on the wrong feet as couldnt pass water.
I understood the MOTM is selected by one of the corporate boxes so they pick the player they want to meet.

The best balanced midfield 3 for me will be RICE, DOWNES & PAQUETA
Soucek has lost his mojo, Fornals has given the ball away and sadly I dont think Coventry will be good enough long term.

Fornals wasn’t terrible. He was shaking his head because he was still disappointed in himself for missing that sitter at the start of the 2nd half.

I’d rather have Fornals in central midfield than Soucek. But to be honest, would like to see Coventry get a chance ahead of both of them.

Also odd how Soucek was playing left side midfield and Rice right side yesterday for that little cameo, despite them always playing the other way around in the majority of matches.

Soucek's missed a load of sitters this season after reading on here he's only not been scoring as he's being held back (not in his favoured position).

You are correct. The ECWC was always number two above the Inter-Cities Fairs/UEFA Cup.

The UEFA Cup, though difficult to win, was always seen as the 'losers cup', whereas the you had to actually be a champion of some sort to qualify for the ECWC. The ECWC was extremely prestigious.
